Passengers travelling across London during the Easter holidays are being advised to plan ahead, as some services on the Transport for London (TfL) network will face temporary closures and reduced operations between 3 April and 10 April.
While the majority of services will run as normal, essential engineering and maintenance work will affect certain Underground, Overground, and rail routes.
Most Transport Services Will Operate Normally
TfL has confirmed that most of its network will remain open throughout the Easter period, helping residents and tourists travel across the city.
Services that will continue as usual include:
- Buses across London
- Santander Cycles
- London Cable Car
- Rental e-scooters
- Victoria Coach Station
These options provide alternative ways to travel if rail services are disrupted.
Why Are There Closures?
TfL says the planned disruptions are necessary to carry out important upgrades and safety checks. These works are designed to:

- District line suspended on parts of its route, including Whitechapel to Upminster

The London Overground and Docklands Light Railway will see multiple service changes:
- No service on parts of the Lioness and Mildmay lines
- Reduced or suspended routes between key stations
- DLR closures between Bank, Tower Gateway, and Poplar for several days
Tram and Road Disruptions
- London tram services will be partly suspended between Wimbledon and Therapia Lane, with replacement buses available
- The A40 road will be closed in both directions between Westway and Marylebone Flyover for major safety upgrades
