White City Living art installation showcases the talent of local students as St James and Ark Burlington Danes Academy transform West London spaces into a vibrant public gallery. Over 100 pupils contributed artworks inspired by the question: “What does White City mean to you?”
Art Connecting Students and Community
Laura Morris, Vice Principal at Ark Burlington Danes Academy, explained the value of the project:
“Art lets students share their voices in ways words often can’t. These pieces reflect their experiences and bring our community together through shared expression.”
She added that the installation goes beyond decoration — it serves as a bridge between students and the wider community, turning personal expression into public dialogue.
Students Share Their Inspiration
Esthefani Neves Pitan Ferreira, one of the contributing artists, said:
“Studying at Burlington Danes and living in White City inspired me to capture the area’s history, diversity, and vibrancy. My piece blends London’s past and present — a highlight of the White City Living art installation.”
Rassah Hamdam shared his perspective:
“White City celebrates diversity and peace. I used my photos of Wood Lane Station and historical influences from Monet to show inclusion and equality. This installation allows our voices to become part of the cityscape.”
