Lewisham & O2 Centre Join Forces with Mind to Promote Mental Wellbeing

Landsec, the owner of Lewisham Shopping Centre and the O2 Centre, has announced a powerful new partnership with leading mental health charity Mind to raise awareness and support mental wellbeing across both centers.

This Lewisham and O2 Centre mental health initiative officially launches on World Mental Health Day (10 October), aligning with global efforts to promote open conversations about mental health and emotional well-being.

Supporting Mental Health in the Community

Mind is one of the UK’s most respected mental health charities, dedicated to helping people facing mental health challenges by tackling stigma, improving access to services, and campaigning for lasting change.

With one in five people in the UK currently living with a mental health problem—and many struggling to find timely support—Mind’s mission is more crucial than ever. Through a network of 107 Local Minds, the charity reaches over 500,000 people every year, offering local community services, a national helpline, and accessible online resources so that no one faces mental health challenges alone.

Creating Mindful Moments in Everyday Spaces

As part of the Lewisham and O2 Centre mental health initiative, both shopping centres are transforming public spaces into areas that promote positivity and mindfulness. Shoppers will discover mirror stickers, art displays, and selfie stands featuring uplifting messages designed to inspire guests to pause, reflect, and reset during their visit.

These installations are also linked to practical resources and local support information, helping visitors connect with Mind’s services both online and within their local communities.

Reaching Millions Through Everyday Interactions

Andrew Berrie, Head of Corporate Partnerships at Mind, shared the importance of the initiative:

“Right now, the nation’s mental health is in crisis. One in five people are living with a mental health problem, and far too many are not getting the help they need.

Our partnership with the centres allows us to reach people in everyday settings — reminding them that mental health affects us all, and that support is always available. The installations will help us potentially connect with millions of shoppers over the next year, encouraging small moments of reflection and letting people know that Mind is here whenever they need us.”

A Commitment to Positive Wellbeing

Paul Redden, Centre Director at Lewisham Shopping Centre, added:

“We’re proud to partner with Mind to help promote positive mental health among our guests. Shopping centers can often be busy, fast-paced environments, so we wanted to create moments that encourage people to pause and take a breath.

This initiative is about reminding our visitors that taking time for themselves, even in small ways, can make a big difference — and that help and support is always available if they need it.”

This Lewisham and O2 Centre mental health initiative reinforces Landsec’s commitment to supporting community wellbeing and promoting open discussions about mental health.

Encouraging Open Conversations About Mental Health

The campaign is not just about visual art — it’s about sparking real change. By introducing accessible, positive messages in everyday environments, Lewisham Shopping Centre, O2 Centre, and Mind aim to reduce stigma and encourage people to talk openly about mental health with friends, family, and colleagues.
