Thai Festival Returns to London This July, Moving to New Tower Bridge Location

Thailand Showcase 2026 brings food, culture and entertainment to Potters Fields Park as part of a 43-city global celebration

London’s annual Thai Festival returns this summer with a new riverside setting, taking place at Potters Fields Park beside Tower Bridge from Friday 17 to Sunday 19 July 2026. The event is free to attend and forms part of a global celebration spanning 43 cities worldwide.

A New Home With Iconic Views

After establishing itself as a fixture in London’s summer events calendar, Thai Festival: Thailand Showcase 2026 moves to Potters Fields Park, positioning the festival against one of London’s most recognisable landmarks. The relocation offers organisers more space while placing the event in a highly accessible riverside location near London Bridge and Tower Hill.

Part of a Global Celebration

This year’s festival operates under the international theme “Creative Life and Creative Heartbeat,” highlighting how creativity shapes Thai food, arts, craftsmanship, wellness, and cultural tradition. London has been selected as one of only 12 flagship cities worldwide for the celebration, reflecting the scale and popularity of Thai cultural events in the UK.

Organised by the Royal Thai Embassy in London, the festival is the largest Thailand-focused public event the Embassy runs in the UK. Building on previous years that attracted more than 60,000 visitors, the 2026 edition will feature more than 50 vendors, exhibitors, and sponsors across three days.

Opening Times

  • Friday 17 July: 1:00 PM – 8:00 PM
  • Saturday 18 July: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
  • Sunday 19 July: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Authentic Thai Food at the Festival

Food forms a central part of the celebration, with several Thai SELECT certified restaurants attending — a government-backed certification that verifies authentic Thai cooking methods and quality ingredients.

Confirmed restaurants include Patara, The Great Thai, Slurp Thai, Siam Niyom, Monkey and Me, Kin+Deum, and Thai Square. Dishes on offer span the breadth of Thai cuisine, including Tom Yum noodles, prawn summer rolls, massaman curry, and stir-fried pork with holy basil.

Visitors can also try Thailand’s traditional Thai milk tea from ChaTraMue, beverages from Chang Beer and Singha Beer, and wines from Monsoon Valley. A dedicated Thai Thana booth will stock packaged Thai grocery items, including LOBO seasoning mixes, ROI THAI ready-to-cook curry pastes, and MANORA shrimp chips.

Wellness, Muay Thai and Cultural Experiences

Beyond food, the festival offers a programme designed to immerse visitors in Thai culture:

Thai Wellness Workshops — Hands-on sessions inspired by traditional Thai spa practices, focusing on aromatic techniques using natural Thai ingredients.

Muay Thai Demonstrations — Interactive workshops and live performances introducing visitors to Thailand’s national sport, suitable for all ages and skill levels.

Thai Crafts Marketplace — A showcase of fashion, jewellery, and handcrafted goods from Thai designers and entrepreneurs, reflecting the country’s creative economy.

Chud Thai Exhibition — A display of traditional Thai national dress, including the eight formal costume styles associated with Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, alongside digital photo experiences for visitors.

Live Performances and Celebrity Chefs

The festival’s entertainment programme includes traditional Thai music, dance performances by artists travelling from Thailand, and fashion shows celebrating Thai textile design.

Cooking demonstrations will feature Chef Chariya Khattiyot, winner of MasterChef UK 2023, alongside chefs from Michelin Guide-listed restaurant Supawan Thai and Farang London. These sessions offer visitors direct insight into both traditional and contemporary approaches to Thai cuisine.

Prizes and Giveaways

Daily lucky draws will run throughout the weekend, with prizes including return flights to Thailand courtesy of Thai Airways and EVA Air, along with Thai merchandise and additional prizes from festival sponsors.

Getting to Potters Fields Park

Nearest stations: London Bridge (5-minute walk), Tower Hill (10-minute walk)
Bus routes: Multiple routes serve the area along Tooley Street and around Tower Bridge
River transport: London Bridge City Pier offers Thames Clipper river bus services

Given the festival’s riverside location and proximity to Tower Bridge, visitors are advised that the area attracts significant tourist footfall during summer weekends, and early arrival is recommended for those wanting easier access to food vendors and seating.

Why This Matters for London

As one of the UK’s most diverse and internationally connected cities, London regularly hosts cultural festivals celebrating communities and traditions from around the world. Thai Festival’s continued growth and its selection as a global flagship city event reinforces London’s role as a major destination for international cultural exchange, while offering Londoners a genuinely free, family-friendly way to experience Thai heritage without travelling abroad.
